Spider Spider... Spin your web.

It's been a long time since I did a post.. I missed out a lot of important stuff, such as... My eldest girl's birthday. Didi turns 6 this year and is growing up fast.. *sigh* A little too fast in my honest opinion. She will be off to primary school next year.

One of her biggest presents from her grandparents was a Xbox 360 with the Kinect system. It was a great deal of fun for her and her friends. They look darn adorable dancing together. =P

We brought her on a special 1 on 1 trip (as 1 on 1 as we can get with her..) to USS. It was real fun for all of us. We had to bring Nic Boy along.. so he generally suffered the most (in the heat and stroller). The nursing facility at USS was great.. So it was really breastfeeding friendly. The only downside there's only ONE nursing facility in the entire park, be prepared to walk a big round if your baby is hungry!

I also missed out talking about Didi's P1 orientation..

My frantic preparation for her school supplies...

And not forgetting Belle's orientation and school supplies..

I'm going to stop here. I know it feels pretty "empty" but that's all folks! Till my next important random post... =D

Word Search Puzzles

When I was a kid, I like doing word search puzzles and thought it will be a good learning method for my #1. I was surfing for some art ideas and chance upon this site that allows you to create/generate your own word search puzzles.

#1 has been learning about adjectives, prepositions etc in her English prep class. However, she is still a little (this is a major understatement) *lost* on the idea of adjectives. We struggled while going through her work. So I decided this is an easy and quick way to "expose" her to more adjectives and hopefully this will help her write better compositions.

*makes a face*
ps. I am pretty sure this is also a good way to occupy time during the upcoming school holidays! Heehee~

My special number 3

Never in my life I expect myself to be a mother of three. No one sets out knowing that they want to have 3 kiddos. Me... definitely not! I didn't even planned to have that many, perhaps one? Neither did I set out to be a SAHM (Stay At Home Mum) but as I write this.. It just hit me that this is my 3rd year being a SAHM. Now.. how did that happen???

I must say being a SAHM to 3 kids is a full time job itself. As I try to blog about this, I've been interrupted many times.. No. 1 needed help for homework, No. 2 wanted to play tea party, No. 3 has to be fed. Then, the cycle repeats itself with different or same demands.

I try to stay sane by doing pretty much every women does when they are stressed out.. Retail therapy. However, retail therapy is can only fill up the void as much as your wallet allows. So do not try to fill up the void just by shopping. It can make your wallet cry and your husband flip.

I recommend having a hobby (or hobbies).. Have interests that do not revolve around your kids. Do not feel guilty that it may seem frivolous or it takes time away from your kids. You need it! A sane mother is a good mother.

There are a lot of frustrations as a SAHM. It could be lack of adult companion, no one understands your role at home, tiredness, you feel frazzled all the time from the busy schedule and lack of sleep. All SAHMs do go through it. So a little me-time can keep you going a little longer, a little saner and perhaps, you would snap a little less at those you love.

I.. myself, still face a lot of struggles as a SAHM but each day is a new day. As long as I tell myself to let go of the small things and try (really try!) to look at the big picture... Even though the big "picture" can be this messy...

My advice to new SAHMs.. Breathe, let go and don't create holes that you can't dig yourself out!

No. 2 is 2!

Happy Birthday, my darling Belle!
May you be blessed with abundance of love, joy and happiness.
Mummy and Daddy loves you lots!

We celebrated (Isa)Belle's birthday on Sunday. Nothing big, just family. She is a little reserve with strangers, so we don't really put her through it. I baked 3 dozens of cupcakes (i-don't-know-why-so-many), lunch was just simple sodhi and putu mayam. We had balloons - kitty themed, and a penguin airwalker which she loves! She was really thrilled with the amount of new toys she gotten, so much so that she wanted to stay home to play with them and not go to school.

I hope she had a great time.. It's hard enough to be a middle child and she has really short time with us as the youngest. We try to give her a certain amount of special attention as we don't have family with kids her age. She feels left out most of the time. She finds the attention on Sunday a little overwhelming.. but it was nice to have a special day just for her! =)

Why Blog? .......Again!

It has been quite some time since I've blogged. Prior to this posts, I've kept an online account of my house renovation on this blog.. Since that's over, I've since deleted everything and moved on. And way before this, I used to blog a lot on beauty stuff at myvanitybag.vox.com and vox.com has since closed down. The mineral makeup community there was really wonderful and some of us did keep in contact but most of us has stopped blogging since the site closed.

So.. why do I want to this again? After 3 kiddos, the urge to do verbal vomit is very strong especially after a long long day with the kids. I am going to try to be consistent in blogging.. *fingers cross*

What will you see here? Definitely a lot of posts on my daily life which involves my 3 darlings.. My long time addiction - trying out new beauty/skincare stuff, and the latest (sort of) hobby - cooking and baking.

If you've got any questions/queries, you can contact me at myvanitybag [at] gmail [dot] com.
